Satoshi Tajiri

Satoshi Tajiri (田 尻 智Japanese, Satoshi Tajiri, born August 28, 1965 at Tokyo's Setagaya district ) is the director of GAME FREAK, Inc. and the creator of Pokémon.

Life

Satoshi Tajiri spent his childhood in Machida, a suburb of Tokyo, where he prefers insects collected. Satoshi chased them everywhere, including on the banks of the pond, in the fields or in the forest. He thought there are always new techniques to attract beetles. The boy was so fascinated by the insects that his friends called him Konchu - hakase (昆虫 博士, dt " Dr. insect" ).

Satoshi did not like school. His father wanted him trained as an electrician, but Satoshi was against it. Later, in the 1970s, the fields and ponds were built. At this time germinated the first ideas that affected the Pokémon. Satoshi wanted to give the new generation of children the opportunity to hunt creatures as he himself had done as a child. He applied to a technology school.

1982 Tajiri created together with friends the game magazine Game Freak. One of these friends was Ken Sugimori, who drew all the pictures of Pokémon. 1991 Satoshi discovered the Game Boy. The figures Ash Ketchum and Gary Oak wear in the Japanese versions of Pokémon the name Satoshi and Shigeru.
