Saturday Night Fever is a musical based on the film Saturday Night Fever in 1977 and the music of the Bee Gees. Premiere had on 5 May 1998 at the London Palladium in London. On Broadway, the musical had its premiere on 21 October 1999 at the Minskoff Theatre. And yet before the Germany premiere was on 11 September 1999 at the Musical Dome in Cologne, where it ran until 30 June 2002. The German production saw in the nearly three years in the Cologne Musical Dome over a million viewers. Thereafter, production was still playing in several other German cities.

Action

Act I

The 19 -year-old Tony Manero works in Brooklyn in the paint shop of Mr. Fusco. He lives from day to day and just waiting for the Saturday night, when he goes into his disco 2001 Odyssey to dance there and meet up with his friends. The petty bourgeoisie of his strict Catholic parents house depressed him and it comes to constantly bickering.

When he again meets in the disco with his friends Joey, Double J, Gus and Bobby C, he agrees to participate with Annette at the annual, large universal Disco Dance Competition. That evening he sees on the dance floor for the first time Stephanie Mangano and falls in love with her.

When training with Annette Tony meets Stephanie again, which has just moved to Manhattan and has thus managed to climb the social ladder in his eyes. He wants to participate only with her at the dance competition. As the girlfriend of Bobby C from him is pregnant, Bobby C feels so overwhelmed and seeks advice from his friends. However, these are annoyed by him and not hear him correctly. Bobby C is desperate and feels left alone.

Second Act

Tony wants to help Stephanie with her ​​move to Manhattan and therefore asks his boss for a day off. When he denied that, Tony quit his job.
