Satya Nandan
Satya N. Nandan is a lawyer and diplomat from Fiji.
Career
Nandan studied law at the University of London and is a Barrister -at- Law of Lincoln 's Inn. He is a lawyer and notary of the Supreme Court of Fiji. From 1970 to 1976 and from 1993 to 1995 he represented his country at the United Nations. In between, he was from 1976 to 1980 Ambassador to the European Union, Belgium, France, Italy, Luxembourg and the Netherlands.
From March 1996 he was Secretary General of the International Seabed Authority for 12 years. From 1 January 2009, he was chairman of the Western and Central Pacific Fisheries Commission.
