Sauble Beach (Ontario)

Sauble Beach is a sand beach, which is located in Ontario, Canada and is situated on the east side of Lake Huron.

It borders the south-west to the town of South Bruce Peninsula and on the north by the Saugeen First Nation. The beach got its name from a French explorer of the Sauble River (French: Rivière aux Saubles ). The first inhabitants who settled in the vicinity was John Eldridge, who settled in 1877 there. Local attractions include the Driftwood Café, Sauble Lodge Motel and other facilities near the beach. The sandy beach stretches for 11 km and the water quality is very high.

As a recreation attractions in the summer, activities take place such as swimming, street festivals, windsurfing, water skiing, fishing, golfing, play bowls, tennis and beach volleyball. In winter sports activities such as snowmobiling and cross country skiing are performed. The Canadian National ( Beach ) Volleyball Championships will be held on the beach and held the Sauble Beach Festival of the Classical Guitar Festival since 2007. The area is often used for student party in the summer. During the hot summer weeks over 100,000 visitors are often counted on the beach. The average temperatures are in the months of May to August is about 20 degrees Celsius, but can reach over 30 degrees Celsius.
