Sauerbruch Hutton

Sauerbruch Hutton is an international agency for architecture, urban planning and design in Berlin, which was founded by Louisa Hutton and Matthias Sauerbruch 1989. Sauerbruch is a grandson of Ferdinand Sauerbruch.

The Office

  • Matthias Sauerbruch (* 1955 in Konstanz ) studied at the Hochschule der Künste Berlin and at the Architectural Association School of Architecture in London. From 1995 he was a professor at the Technical University of Berlin and from 2001 to 2007 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart. Since 2012 he is a visiting professor at the University of Arts in Berlin.
  • Louisa Hutton ( born 1957 in Norwich ) studied at Bristol University and at the Architectural Association School of Architecture in London.

Since 2008, both worked as visiting professors at Harvard University.

The team is led by Matthias Sauerbruch, Louisa Hutton, Juan Lucas Young. Associated Juergen beard blow Andrew Kiel, Tom spirits and David Wegener.

To 2013/14 work about 70 architects, designers, engineers, model makers and administrative staff in the office Sauerbruch Hutton Gesellschaft von Architekten mbH in Berlin.

Furniture

For the Museum Brandhorst in Munich ClassiCon presented in Munich, the Munich Chair, Armchair and Munich Munich Lounge Chair ago, the 2011 Munich sofa followed. The Munich Lounger won early 2011 the Interior Design Award at IMM Cologne.
