Saurier

Dinosaur is a commune of 235 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the Puy -de- Dôme in the Auvergne region. It belongs administratively to the district Issoire and Canton Champeix.

Geography

The village lies on the right bank of the river Couze Pavin, about 25 kilometers south of Clermont- Ferrand and 15 kilometers west of Issoire, just outside the Regional Natural Park Volcans d' Auvergne. North of the town center, the summit of Puy de Roche Courbiere collected ( 874 m), in the southeast of the volcanic cone of Brionnet ( 927 m).
