Saxatilomys

Saxatilomys Paulinae is a rodent species from the group of Altweltmäuse ( Murinae ). It was described in 2005.

The coat of Saxatilomys Paulinae is colored dark gray on the back, the belly is lighter, the feet are gray-brown. The tail is considerably longer than the body. To the eyes are narrow rings, the ears are gray-brown and relatively large.

The species was discovered in the region Khammouan in southern Laos, where it inhabits areas from verkarstetem limestone. The animals are nocturnal and feed on probably mainly of insects.

About the level of danger nothing definite is known. The IUCN believed that there are not too many threats, but lists the type under "too little data available " ( data deficient ).
