Saxe-Römhild
Saxony- Römhild was a duchy in the southern foothills ernestinisches of the Thuringian Forest, there existed only 30 years.
Saxony- Römhild was established in 1680 by the estate settlement of Saxe- Gotha as an inheritance for Henry, the fourth son of Duke Ernest I. " the Pious " of Saxe- Gotha ( 1601-1675 ) and included the Principality Römhild the offices Römhild, Königsberg in Bavaria ( this was already 1683 Saxony- Hildburghausen ) and Themar, the winery Behrungen, the yard to the spleen and the real feud between.
After his death in 1710 it was divided among the following duchies:

- Saxony- Hildburghausen ( Behrungen winery, yard to the spleen and the real feud between ).
The Duke of Saxe- Römhild had no own sovereignty; those held by the Duke of Saxe-Gotha -Altenburg ( so-called " Nexus Gothanus "). Since the reorganization of the Ernestine duchies in 1826 the entire territory of the former Principality Römhild of Saxe -Meiningen was one.
