Saxon VIII 1

The genus VIII 1 of the Saxon State Railroad was an express locomotive with the wheel arrangement 2'B. Were used, the vehicles on the route between Dresden and Chemnitz.

History

They were formed after the model of machines from Württemberg. They were equipped with an American truck and a high firebox liner instead of the second steam dome. In addition, the boiler was higher.

The 50 -year-old locomotives were retired by the Deutsche Reichsbahn, before they had received a new series designation.
