SC Rusj Uzhorod

SK Rusj Uzhhorod (Ukrainian: СК Русь Ужгород ) was established in 1925 Ruthenian football club from Uzhhorod, which belonged to Czechoslovakia at that time.

The playing in blue-yellow team won the 1929 and 1931 championship eastern Slovakia and Carpathian Ruthenia, and in 1933, the Championship of Slovakia and Carpathian Ruthenia. The latter success entitled the SK Rusj to participate in the Amateur Championship of Czechoslovakia in 1933, in which one, however, already in the first round with 1:3 and 1:4 eliminated against the DFC Prague.

1936 was the team Slovakian champions and qualified against SK Bata Zlín (4:1 and 2:2 ), SK Moravian Schönberg ( 6:2 and 6:2 ), SK Hradec Králové (1:0 and 1:1 ) and Viktoria Zizkov (1:2 and 2:3 ) for those professional first Czechoslovak league. With only three wins and two draws from 22 games of the SK Rusj Uzhhorod was relegated as a table Penultimate again. For most games, the team traveled by plane, and because nine players were teachers, the team "The Flying teacher" was soon (Czech: létající učitelé ) called.

The average attendance in the single Erstligasaison stood at 3,400, the maximum in a game in 7000.

The best-known players of Rus was the goalkeeper Olexa Boksay (later Alexa Boksay ), who played from 1937 at Slavia Prague and 1949 in three games was Czechoslovakian national team coach.

After the separation of Carpatho-Ukraine from Czechoslovakia in late 1938, the SK Rusj dissolved and was not re- established after 1945. As the successor applies the FC Hoverla - Zakarpattya Uzhhorod.
