SC Veendam

History

The club was founded on September 4, 1894 and was therefore one of the oldest professionally run football clubs in the Netherlands. The first name of the association was " Look- Out", but was quickly renamed " Prinses Juliana Veendam ". But was always the simple name " Veendam " In use. With the beginning of the professionalization of Dutch football in 1954, also held professional football in Veendam feeder. According to different conceptions of the club in 1974 was divided. The Professional Division was given the designation "Sport Club Veendam ," the amateur division " Veendam 1894 ".
