Schaas
SAES ( German Schaas; Hungarian Segesd ) is a village in Transylvania ( Romania). It belongs administratively to the municipality Apold ( Apold ).
Location
SAES is located about seven kilometers south of Sighisoara ( Sighisoara ) along the national road (DN) 106, which subsequently over Apold ( council offices ) and the Harbachtal to Sibiu (Hermannstadt) leads.
History
The village was first mentioned in 1302. Due to the geographical proximity of the events in Schaas was most closely bound up with that in Sighisoara through the centuries.
Until the 1960s led the narrow gauge line " whoosh " by SAES and connected the place with the rail network of the CFR.
