Schacht (automobile)

The shaft Motor Car Company was an American automobile manufacturer who produced 1904-1913 in Cincinnati (Ohio ) cars with the name slot. The company was founded in the 19th century as a shaft Manufacturing Company to produce small carts. In 1904, Gustav A. Schacht decided also to produce automobiles in addition to the carts.

The first car was a hochrädriger buggy with twin-cylinder engine in the rear, two people found place in the. Already in the following year, a four-cylinder model with 30 bhp (22 kW) to its performance in the following year to 40 bhp ( 29 kW ) increased. As of 1907, however, the shaft was limited again on the High Wheeler, cheap, hochrädrige vehicles that made known and successful company. In 1909 it was renamed the shaft Motor Car Company. In 1911, the wheels were smaller again and there was another four-cylinder engines. 1912 fell off the affordable two-cylinder model, but in 1913 was forced to recognize shaft that its large passenger cars were no longer competitive.
