Geography

Schackensleben is located about 6 km north- west of Irxleben near Magdeburg on the Olbe.

History

The municipality was created in 1929 by Schackensleben merger of two formerly independent communities - Schackensleben and small Santersleben. Schackensleben and small Santersleben are separated by the Olbe.
