Schaefer Music Festival

The Schaefer Music Festival was a music festival, which took place in the summer of 1967-1976 at the Trump Wollman Skating Rink in Central Park in New York City, respectively. The events were sponsored by the brewery F. & M. Schaefer Brewing Company. After due to noise complaints, the festival was moved to the "West Side Piers ," it quickly lost its appeal and was not continued after 1976.

It was founded by Hilly Kristal Festival, renowned musician and owner of the New York club CBGB, and the concert promoter Ron Delsener. Most of the concerts were attended by six to seven thousand spectators, but it was reported that Bob Marley's appearance in 1975 had attracted about 15,000 spectators. The festival was very popular because of the very reasonable entrance fees and the performances of many famous musicians.
