The Schefflenz is a right tributary of the Jagst in northern Baden -Württemberg. On her good 23.5 km long run it crosses the Neckar- Odenwald-Kreis and the district of Heilbronn.

Course

The Schefflenz rises immediately north of Großeicholzheim (municipality Seckach ) to 328 m above sea level. NN and then flows in a southerly direction.

It crosses successively the districts named after her community Schefflenz, namely Kleineicholzheim, upper, middle and lower Schefflenz. Then it flows through the Billigheimer districts Katzental, cheap home and Allfeld where the Sulzbach opens. In the lower reaches turned to the south-west, it forms the boundary between city and Neudenau Gundelsheim. It flows in this area an idyllic meadow valley, whose slopes are on both sides consisted of forests. North of Untergriesheim it opens at 151 m above sea level. Flood protection

The Schefflenztal as a traffic

The importance of Schefflenztals traffic is comparatively low. At its entire length, it is crossed by the country roads L520/L526 and crosses at Oberschfflenz and Kleineicholzheim of the railway line Neckarelz - Osterburken.
