Schiaparelli (Martian crater)

4580

Schiaparelli is about 450 km large crater on Mars equator of the Red Planet. He is one of the largest impact craters and is the sine Sabarus between two landscapes, which were given the names and Noarchis Arabia in the 19th century.

The crater was mapped in 1970 by U.S. Mars probes and after the Mars explorer Giovanni Schiaparelli ( 1835-1910 ) named the discoverer of the supposed canals of Mars.
