The Schiedam Centrum Railway Station is an important station on the Dutch railway Amsterdam- Rotterdam and Schiedam - Hoek van Holland.

History

The station was opened as a railway and subway station on June 3, 1847 on 4 November 2002.

It was still the only station in Schiedam. 1889 the first station building was demolished and replaced by a design by architect DAN Margadant. 1891, the railway line was opened after Maassluis, 1893 extended to Hook of Holland. This line is therefore known under the name ' Hoekse Lijn '.

In 1963 a new station was by the head of the construction department of the Dutch Railways, Koenraad van der Gaast opened. The roof is similar to that of the station of Tilburg. On May 25, 1967, the railway station in Schiedam -Rotterdam West has been renamed. At this time there held international trains to and from Hoek van Holland, which did not stop in Rotterdam CS. Since 24 May 1998, the Schiedam Centrum station is, because do not hold any international moves.
