Schizocoely

Schizocoelie is a term used in embryology. In protostomes, the term refers to the formation of the third germ layer ( mesoderm ), which forms the coelom. This individual cells migrate into the space between ecto- and endoderm, resulting in the formation of the secondary body cavity.
