Schköna is a district of the city Graefenhainichen in Wittenberg district in Saxony- Anhalt. To Schköna heard the place Hohenlubast.

History

Schköna is documented as Skogen in the Meißner Bistumsmatrikel of 1346 for the first time. The place name is of Slavic origin Skogen, but the meaning is unknown. In the Thirty Years' War Schköna was completely destroyed by the Swedes.

Schköna 1664 was affected by witch hunts. Dorothea, wife of Veit Tengel, was caught in a witch trial, and suffered death by fire.

The church was rebuilt only in 1670. In 1950, Hohenlubast merged with Schköna.
