Schloss Lieser

Schloss Lieser is newly built in the style of historicism palace in the homonymous wine village on the Moselle River Lieser near Bernkastel -Kues, on the opposite shore of Mülheim. It is next to the parish church of St. Peter is the most prominent building in the town and is a historical monument since 1981.

History

The building was created from 1884 to 1887 on the site of the courtyard house built in 1710 of a church property or a former kurtrierischen court. Design and planning are derived from the Frankfurt architect Heinrich Theodor Schmidt, who also had the supervision.

Schloss Lieser was the family home of industrialist Eduard Puricelli († 1893), the co-owner of a steel company was active in the gas business and had offices in Trier and in Rheinboellen. Eduard Puricelli was politically active for the Conservative Party and was elected in 1867 for the Rhine Province in the German Reichstag. After winning the Franco-German war he agreed, probably mainly for economic reasons, for the connection of Alsace - Lorraine to the German Empire.

Puricellis both sons died young, his daughter Maria married in 1880 the high Prussian official Clemens Freiherr von Schorlemer -Lieser. He also provided the name of the castle that Mary passed in 1895. After Schorlemer change to Koblenz 1905 who turned it extensively and expand. 1981 the municipality bought Lieser the property for 600,000 German marks from the family Schorlemer -Lieser. Last resident was the dame widow of Schorlemer -Lieser, Marlyn Rheinen. In February 2001, a native of Bad Salzuflen investor bought the house for two million euros. Construction

The building is located between the coastal road and the lying in the back Lieser Schlossberg and extends almost east-west direction. All rooms in the various floors have access via the central hall, a typical feature of English country houses. The ground floor was built in reddish sandstone, brick the floors above it with typical regional shale. The window frames of the upper floors are made of Udelfanger sandstone, all pillars of the castle have been built with Burgpreppacher sandstone. First floor

Planning

Weingut Schloss Lieser

During the time Schorlemer the lock was attached to a wine press for the house wines.
