Schlumbergera orssichiana

Schlumbergera orssichiana is a flowering plant in the genus Schlumbergera from the cactus family ( Cactaceae ).

Description

Schlumbergera orssichiana growing epiphyte with pendulous branches. The leaf-like flat drive sections 5 to 7.5 centimeters long and 3.2 to 4.5 inches wide. Their edges are serrated two to three times on each side. In each notch is a thornless areola. At the drive end sits an elongated composite areola.

The slightly zygomorphic, " fluttery " appearing flowers open wide. They are up to 9 inches long and achieve just such diameter. Your flower tube is short. The white bracts are not bent back and color to the edges and towards the tip of crimson flamed up. The bright green Perikarpell is five - or six -edged. The fleshy, obtuse, five -or six- edged fruits are greenish yellow to white.

Distribution, systematics and hazard

Schlumbergera orssichiana is widespread in Brazil in the northwest of the state of Rio de Janeiro and in the east of the state of São Paulo at altitudes from 1600 to 2500 meters. The first description was published in 1978 by Wilhelm Barthlott and AJS McMillan.

In the Red List of Threatened Species IUCN, the type is called " Endangered ( EN ) ', ie performed as endangered.
