Schnitzel Paradise

Schnitzel Paradise is a romantic comedy from director Martin Koolhoven that originated in the Netherlands in 2005. It is based on the novel of apprenticeship in Schnitzelparadies by Khalid Boudou.

Action

Graduate Nordip to study medicine according to the will of his father. The young Dutchman of Moroccan instead works secretly in a hotel kitchen in which it comes to comic entanglements between the multicultural staff. Nordip however, falls in love with Agnes, the niece of the hotel manager.

Reviews

Schnitzelparadies has been widely regarded as a " multi-cultural comedy", in contrast to Kebab Connection, which appeared in Germany in the same year, however, the film is not simply a " culture clash comedy " ( Schnitt.de ). In contrast to the original book, the film barely handle of the pitfalls of integration, the comedy was all over but " catchy food, isolated garnished with peppers ," the Stuttgarter Zeitung.

Awards

On 19 December 2005 Schnitzelparadies was honored for over 100,000 visitors in the Netherlands with gold. For his performance Mimoun Oaïssa received the Golden Calf for Best Supporting Actor, in three other categories, the film was nominated. The author of the screenplay reaction was awarded at the Skip City International D-Cinema Festival with the award for best screenplay.
