Schutzpolizei
The police ( bobby, S ) denotes an organizational unit in the German Police ( State Police ).
The members of the police do their work mostly in police uniform.
Tasks
The main task of the police is to maintain public safety and order within the assigned area to ensure protection ( security ).
The duties include crime prevention, the detection of an unlawful act and the punishment of offenses order.
The criminal investigation continues the subsequent follow up and administration assistant offenses.

History
Officials of the police, however, were referred to in the 20th century as " policeman " of the 1920s to the 1950s, often referred to as " Bobby ".
