Schwarzeck (mountain)

The Schwarzeck ( 1238 m ) is a mountain in the Bavarian Forest, which rises in the ridge between Arber Heugstatt and Mühlriegel.

It belongs to the Bavarian Forest mountains less known. A possible variation of the ascent is the ascent over the hut trail and then along the Südgrats ( no trail and only with sturdy shoes, some easy rock climbing). Of the two summit rocks, the view opens in the Lamer angle, for Osser, the Zellertal and Kaitersberg; on one of them is also a summit cross. Most hikers will pass the Schwarzeck along the hiking trail leading from the E6 Arber for Kaitersberg, further increases result from Arnbruck, Schareben or Lohberg for summits. 1970, a summit cross was built on the main summit, which was renewed in 2006. From the rocky summit ridge one can, since the storm Kyrill in 2007 countless felled trees, behold the whole Lamer angle.
