Schwarzsee

Schwarzsee (French Lac Noir; ? Freiburg Patois d' Lé Philomene / i ) is a around 0.5 km ² large lake in the Swiss canton of Fribourg in Fribourg foothills.

Location

It is situated 1,046 m above sea level. M. and has a maximum depth of only 10 m. Its shores are mostly flat and lined with grass and trees, a short section with steep banks, there are just to the south. The lake is nestled in the foothills of the Alps mountain landscape of the Fribourg Alps. Around the lake, the heights of the Schwyberg are ( 1,628 m above sea level. M. ) to the west, the rocky ridges of Les Reccardets ( 1,923 m above sea level. M. ) and Spitzflue ( 1'951 m above sea level. M. ) in the south and the Kaiseregg ( 2,185 m above sea level. M. ) in the east. The only significant tributaries are the Euschelsbach (from the south ) and the Seeweidbach ( from the southwest ). His drain to the north forms the Warm Sense, a swelling flow of Sense.

Use

The valley belongs to the political community Plaffeien Schwarzsee ( Sensebezirk ) and has about 500 permanent residents. He is in the range of runoff from the Warm Sense Schwarzsee and is made in the valley floor scattered farms, chalets and other tourism facilities. The sulphurous water of the lake is used for medicinal baths for 200 years.

With the name Schwarzsee also popular tourist region is referred to in the catchment area of the lake. In the summer you can go on long walks on the surrounding mountains, skiing in winter is driven or operated on the frozen lake ice skating. A chair lift gives access to the Riggisalp, previously also introduced a car to the Schwyberg. In winter, several ski lifts in operation on the slopes of Kaiseregg and Riggisalp. Schwarzsee one of three political communities. The northern and western shore belongs to the municipality Plaffeien. The eastern shore is a member of Jaun. The southern shore is part of the municipality of Val -de- Charmey. The municipal border between Jaun and Plaffeien runs from north to south almost exactly in the middle of the lake.

Saga

According to legend, the lake was Schwarzsee because the giant Gargantua had washed the feet in the lake and the water is dirty since then.
