Scott Bakula

Scott Stewart Bakula ( born October 9, 1954 in St. Louis, Missouri ) is an American actor.

Biography

Born as the son of a lawyer Bakula began early with the music and played during his college years in a band. Then he began to study law at the University of Kansas. But this he ended prematurely.

1983 Bakula debuted on Broadway in the role of Joe DiMaggio in the play Marilyn, An American Fable. His television debut consisted of television commercials for " Canada Dry " and decaffeinated coffee brand " Folgers Coffee ". He also played the lead role in the Broadway musical Romance, Romance and was nominated for a 1988 Tony Award.

Its role in Romance, Romance and his nomination for the Tony Award gave him in 1989 a benefit in awarding the lead role as Dr. Sam Beckett in the television series Back to the past (English Quantum Leap, for German quantum jump) along with Dean Stockwell. For the embodiment of the time-traveling scientist in the series he won, together with three other nominations, a Golden Globe Award in 1992 and was also nominated four times for an Emmy for Best Actor. Due to poor ratings, the series but was dismissed in 1993. There was a small but not insignificant role in the sitcom Murphy Brown.

It was followed by several TV movies, but also supporting roles in movies such as Color of Night ( opposite Bruce Willis ) and Sibling Rivalry ( with Kirstie Alley ). In 1999, he played a gay neighbors of Kevin Spacey in the Oscar-winning movie American Beauty. In 2001 appearances followed in Stormy Times and Role of a Lifetime.

From 2001 to 2005 he played the character of Captain Jonathan Archer in the science fiction television series Star Trek: Enterprise.

In April 2006, he played the role of Charlie Anderson in Shenandoah Musical, which was performed in the historic Ford 's Theatre in Washington.

In February 2014 it was announced that Scott Bakula starred in the series NCIS: to take over New Orleans. It is an offshoot of the series NCIS.

Private life

Scott Bakula has two siblings - Brad and Linda. In 1986, he met his first wife Krista Neumann know. The two have two children together. In 1995 they divorced. From 1996 to 2006 he had a relationship with actress Chelsea Field. The couple has two sons.
