Scott Stapp

Scott Alan Stapp, actually Anthony Scott Flippen, ( born August 8, 1973 in Orlando, Florida ) is an American musician. The singer and songwriter is a member of the rock band Creed and now also a solo artist.

After expulsion from Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee for marijuana use, he went to the Valencia College in Orlando and graduated as an Associate of Arts. Short term he was still in college at Florida State University, where in 1995 the band Creed was born.

Stapp was strictly religious upbringing. As a teenager, he decided to run away from home and went to Tallahassee. Religious education should make later often in his lyrics apparent: Again and again, he has grappled with questions of faith and seeks in this regard after his role. While already the band Creed was often referred to as a Christian band, Stapp as a solo artist committed expressly to the Christian faith.

The Doors and Jim Morrison in particular have Stapp reportedly influenced his musical style crucial. In 1999 he joined with the surviving members of the band on at a concert. The album The Joshua Tree by U2 also writes about an important influence on his music and lyrics.

In recent years, Stapp always fell back on by inadequate behavior. Among other things, he should have given a concert with Creed in heavily drunk. In addition, he should have been involved in a brawl with the band 311. Stapp regret these incidents publicly. His alcohol problems seem to have subsided now, so he received a very good response for his U.S. tour as a solo artist.

On 10 February 2006, he has the Miss New York USA 2004 Jaclyn Nesheiwat in Miami, Florida married after just 16 months of marriage of Hillaree Burns he had divorced in 1999. From the first marriage he has a son named Jagger Stapp, with Jaclyn Nesheiwat he has a daughter, Milan Hayat Stapp.

After starting his solo career soon followed by his first album The Great Divide. As instrumentalists served the band Gone Blind. In April 2006, the album was released in Germany after it was available in the U.S. since November 2005. In the summer of 2006 he toured with Breaking Point by the United States.

After Creed separated in 2004, 2009 saw the reunification, under which on 30 October 2009 a new album called " Full Circle " has been released.

The deluxe version of the 2010 appearing Santana solo album " Guitar Heaven ," contains a version of the Creedence Clearwater Revival song " Fortunate Son " with Stapp as a guest singer of the piece. In 2004, he was also in the TV movie 30 Days Until I'm Famous - to see in 30 days famous.
