Scouting Nederland

Scouting Nederland is the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts Association of the Netherlands. Scouting Nederland is the largest youth organization in the country with 112,000 members.

Scouting Nederland is a member of the World Scout Associations World Organization of the Scout Movement and the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts, as well as their European divisions. In 1100 local groups 87,000 children and young people are active, which are managed by 25,000 volunteers .. History

The first Dutch Scout Group was formed in 1910 in Amsterdam. First organized in several associations, the Dutch Scouts joined together in 1915 in association De Nederlandse Padvinders. In addition to the groups of boys and groups of girls in 1916 in association Het Nederlandsche Meisjesgilde united emerged (from 1933: Nederlandse Padvindstersgilde ). 1938 and 1945, respectively, the Catholic groups split off by the two associations; The result were the Katholieke Verkenners for boys and the Nederlandse Gidsen for girls.
