Sé O'Hanlon

Séamus " Sé " O'Hanlon, Shay O'Hanlon, ( born 14 September 1941 in Dublin ) is a former Irish cyclist.

Sean O'Hanlon was one of the most successful Irish amateur racer in the 1960s to the 1970s. Only four times - 1962, 1965, 1966 and 1966 - he won the Irish stage race Rás Tailteann for himself, in which he won a total of 24 stages and 36 days wearing the leader's jersey. Four times he also won the Tour of Ulster (1961, 1962, 1965 and 1966 ). In 1975, he was Irish champion in the road race.

O'Hanlon was a member of one of three Irish cycling associations, the National Cycling Association (NCA ), which Cycliste was not a member of the International Cycling Union Union Internationale (UCI ). The NCA had not been recognized by the UCI because they are representing all Irish counties, including Northern Ireland, understand. Therefore O'Hanlon could not start in international competitions. Later he became president of the NCA and drove the unification of the three organizations to be " Irish Cycling ", which took place in 1987.
