Séamus Cunningham

Séamus Cunningham (born 7 July 1942 Castlebar, County Mayo, Ireland) is Roman Catholic Bishop of Hexham and Newcastle in England.

Life

Cunningham visited the St. Nathy 's College in Ballaghaderreen. At St. John 's College in Waterford, he prepared himself for his priestly ordination, which he received on 12 July 1966.

In 2009 he was by Benedict XVI. appointed 13th bishop of the Diocese of Hexham and Newcastle. He received his episcopal consecration on March 20, 2009, the Archbishop of Liverpool, Patrick Altham Kelly; Co-consecrators were his Vorvorgäner Ambrose Griffiths and the Bishop of Lancaster, Michael Gregory Campbell.
