Sean Callery

Sean P. Callery ( born 1964 in Hartford, Connecticut) is an American composer for television series and film music.

Life and achievements

Callerys family moved to Bristol, Rhode Iceland, when he was about seven years old. Already in his early youth learned Sean Callery piano. He was interested in various types of music and played jazz in nightclubs. He was trained in classical music at the New England Conservatory of Music, played alongside piano and trombone and tuba, received lessons in composition and graduated from the Conservatory in 1987. In the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, his responsibilities included the singer Donny Osmond in a guest appearance on the piano. In December 1987, Callery moved to Los Angeles and worked for the New England Digital, which built the electronic musical instrument Synclavier. He taught it, inter alia, the composer Alan Silvestri, James Newton Howard, Herbie Hancock and Mark Snow.

1989 Callery composed additional music for the Siegfried and Roy show in Las Vegas. He created music for films and commercials. In early summer 1992 he toured briefly with Olivia Newton-John. Producer Joel Surnow hired him for the original music from the TV series Nikita (1997-2001) and at 24 (since 2001) for the theme tune. 2003 Callery won an ASCAP Award from the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers for the dramatic television series 24 In the same year he received an Emmy for the music in 24 for the follow 10:00 PM - 11:00 PM. 2002, 2004, 2005 and 2007 he was nominated for 24 each for an Emmy. In 2006, he was with this award for the follow 6:00 AM - 7:00 AM awarded in 24. In 2004 he wrote the music for the video game James Bond 007: Everything or Nothing. In 2006 he created the soundtrack for the Playstation 2 game 24: The Game.

Callery lives with his wife Debbie in Los Angeles. He has an older brother.
