Seán Garland

Seán Garland ( born March 7, 1934 in Dublin) is a veteran of the Northern Irish republican movement.

IRA

Garland joined the IRA in 1953. The following year, he was recruited by the British Army, but only to collect information on the British forces in Northern Ireland. He helped the IRA to a large part of the arsenal of Gough Barracks in County Armagh, which they seized during a raid in June 1954.

The action concerned the preparation of the Border Campaign, which was also Seán Garland participated. In 1957, right at the beginning, he was on a base of the Royal Ulster Constabulary severely wounded and arrested during the attack.
