Action

Overview

Mankind has populated the last unexplored region of the ocean. The SeaQuest DSV (DSV stands for Deep Submergence Vehicle, English for " deep submersible vehicle " ) ( short UEO called the series counterpart to the UN ), a submarine of the " United Earth / Oceans Organization," Captain Nathan Bridger goes ( in Season 3: Captain Oliver Hudson) and his team on a long trip.

First Season

The consequences of the first season have a character that is characterized by love of adventure and curiosity. They often rely on developments in the environment, which were already apparent at the time of production of the series. This is especially true for changes in the underwater world, which were triggered by humans. The contents ranged from exploring the deep sea on the uprising in an underwater mine to tracking of eco- terrorists.

Second Season

Since the audience for the station were not satisfactory, put this in the second season several fundamental changes. They wanted the series the one hand, action-heavy design and on the other hand also rejuvenate the occupation to address younger viewers. As a result, the older performer Royce D. Applegate, and John D' Aquino were dismissed, also Stephanie Beacham and Stacy Haiduk opted for a voluntary exit. For the much younger Kathy Evison, Edward Kerr, Rosalind Allen and Michael and Peter DeLuise came new to it.

In addition, the adventures of the seaQuest in the second season should still be fantastic and release from the terms of timeliness of the first season. So finally extraterrestrials, Urweltmonster, Demons, Atlantis and even ancient Greek gods were introduced.

Third Season

In the third season, the idea of the series was changed drastically due to poor ratings again. This season there is a lot darker and more cynical than the two previous seasons, the Action burdensomeness was also stressed on. So they sent the seaQuest for ten years in the future in order to create a new situation: The UEO is broken; the earth is divided into several blocks of power. The object of the seaQuest crew is now to protect the interests of the remaining UEO especially against the emerging dictatorial state Macronesien. This conflict-ridden storyline running through the entire season.

In the third season rose Roy Scheider, who had previously expressed repeatedly negative about the career of the series, out of production and was only seen from there on in some guest appearances. He was replaced by Michael Ironside appeared as Captain Oliver Hudson. The main cast was also reduced: Rosalind Allen and Marco Sanchez was terminated, but Elise Neal went on seaQuest 2032 new one. Edward Kerr rose at his own request after a few episodes from the series also made . After the completion of the 13th episode of this season, the production of the series was discontinued surprising.
