Seattle Metropolitans

The Seattle Metropolitans were an American ice hockey team from Seattle, Washington. The team played from 1915 to 1924 in the Pacific Coast Hockey Association ( PCHA ).

History

The Seattle Metropolitans were established in 1915 and incorporated for the season 1915/16 in the Pacific Coast Hockey Association. In her first season, which was played with four teams, managed the team a game score of nine wins and nine defeats achieve. The championship won by the Portland Rosebuds. In the following season the team won win 16 games, lost eight games and thus won for the first time the championship of the PCHA. The Metropolitans were then against the winner of the National Hockey Association, the Montreal Canadiens, in order to win the Stanley Cup.

In four games, the team from Seattle won with a 3-1 victory and won the first team from the United States, the Stanley Cup. One of the best scorers of the team included Bernie Morris, Frank Foyston and Jim Riley. With the goalie Hap Holmes and the two defensive players Gord Fraser and Jack Arbour, the franchise also had a reputable defensive. When head coach Pete Muldoon served Canadians. 1918, 1920, 1922 and 1924 was four more times the championship of the Pacific Coast Hockey Association obtained.
