Sebastián Abreu

Washington Sebastián Abreu Gallo called El Loco ( The Crazy ), ( born October 17, 1976 in Minas, Uruguay ) is an Uruguayan football player.

Club career

Sebastián Abreu played in many different countries such as Uruguay, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, and in Europe in Spain. His career began in 1994 in the club Defensor Sporting Club. There he played in his youth until 1996 and was then pulled into the professional squad. In the professional team he played one year completed 24 games and scored 13 goals. In 1996 he moved to San Lorenzo, where he remained and in 1997 the Spanish top club Deportivo La Coruna, but with limited success, however, only a year. This was followed by a total of six loan periods at Gremio, UAG Tecos to revert back to San Lorenzo, then Nacional Montevideo, CD Cruz Azul and Club America eventually. Almost every club he could prove his goalscoring. Deportivo La Coruna finally decided to sell him to Nacional Montevideo. In a year he graduated from 38 matches and scored 24 goals. In 2005 he moved to Dorados de Sinaloa, in the same year to CF Monterrey. In 2007 he played for Club San Luis, then at UANL Tigres.

In 2008, he moved even three times. It was only on loan according to CA River Plate, then to Beitar Jerusalem. He also denied games for Champions League qualification. Then it went back to CA River Plate. In January 2009 he was loaned to the Spanish club Real Sociedad. On March 14, he scored a hat-trick in a 3-1 win against Deportivo Xerez for his club.

On 13 June 2009 he signed a contract with Greek club Aris Thessaloniki.

In January 2010, he then moved to Botafogo FR. There he graduated until 2012 90 games in which he scored 59 hits. In the second half of 2012, he joined Figueirense FC. There he was employed five times (no gate).

On January 13, 2013, was presented as a new entry at Nacional in Montevideo, where he signed a two-year contract with a one-year extension option. With the Bolsos he finished the season third in the standings and completed during the Clausura eleven league games in which he was in the starting five times and scored a total of two hits. He then moved for a year on loan to Argentina to Rosario Central, where he was presented on 1 August 2013 as the new arrival. However, a purchase option did not get the trained by Miguel Ángel Russo Argentines. Until his last mission provisionally on November 2, 2013, graduated at the Argentines twelve games and scored four goals. However, he was only twice in the starting lineup.

National

Sebastián Abreu is a member of the national team of Uruguay. 2002 and 2010 he took part with the Uruguayan selection of the World Cup. Here he turned to Uruguay in the quarter- final against Ghana on July 2, 2010 in Johannesburg the winning penalty to 5:3 final score with a lob in the middle of the gate, similar to that of Zinedine Zidane in the final of the 2006 World Cup. Abreu had already several times on thus, penalty, around April 2010 at the finals of the Campeonato Carioca with Botafogo FR or in the semi-finals of the Copa America 2007 against Brazil.

For Celeste, he completed a total of 70 international matches since his debut on 17 July 1996, in which he hit the opponent's goal total of 26 times. His most recent application for Celeste dated August 15th, 2012 at the friendly match against France. However, in early January 2014, he expressed his confidence as before, to be nominated by national coach Tabarez for the 2014 World Cup, when he would bring his performance at club level.

Others

In January 2012, Abreu was conducted in one of the International Federation of Football History & Statistics ( IFFHS ) established ranking at position 10 of the most successful, still active as a player goal scorers worldwide. The basis for this were 236 goals scored in 421 matches played.
