Sebastian Aguilera de Heredia

Sebastián Aguilera de Heredia ( baptized August 15, 1561 in Zaragoza, † December 16, 1627 ) was a Spanish organist and composer.

Life and works

Aguilera began his career in 1585 as organist at the Cathedral of Huesca. This position he led until September 29, 1603 further than he was ordained priest and principal organist at the church of La Seo, Zaragoza was. Later, the organ was restored under his leadership. In December 1620, he appointed one of his students, José Ximénez, deputy organist who became his successor.
