Seč Dam

The dam Seč is located south of the city Seč in Okres Chrudim, Czech Republic. It is located in the west of the Iron Mountains and dammed the river Chrudimka.

Construction of the dam was carried out 1925-1934 in the valley between the castles Oheb and Vildštejn. The built of granite blocks between the natural rock walls dam has a height of 42 meters. It is 165 m long and has a thickness of 6.8 meters.

The reservoir of the dam is 7 km, the water depth at the dam is 35 m. The capacity is 22 million cubic meters. Below, also referred to as Seč I dam is still a smaller reservoir Seč II

The settlement Podohbí and some mills was flooded by the construction of the dam. A therein rock island below the castle ruins Oheb was declared a nature reserve in 1996.
