Secretariat of Communications and Transportation (Mexico)

The Secretaría de Comunicaciones y Transportes (SCT ) is the political "Secretary ( of the government ) of Communications and Transport ," in Mexico. As Secretariat of the Government, it is comparable to a Ministry of State government, ie, a post office and Ministry of Transport.

It was founded in August 1891 as a "post office " ( Secretaría de Comunicaciones ). 1920, the remit to include responsibility for public works has been expanded and the Secretariat was renamed the Secretaría de Comunicaciones y Obras Públicas ( SCOP ). The present name it bears since 1959.

The SCT is divided into three sub- secretariats ( Subsecretaría ) for " communication ", " transport" ( Planeación Turística ) and " innovation and quality " ( Innovación y Calidad ). He is placed under the body for State Road and Bridge Caminos y Puentes Federales.
