Secretariat of Foreign Affairs (Mexico)

The Secretaría de Relaciones Exteriores ( SRE) is the political " office ( the government) for External Relations " in Mexico, comparable to a Foreign Ministry. It was founded in 1876 and is headquartered in Mexico City.

The Secretariat is divided into four sub- secretariats for " External Relations ", " Latin America and the Caribbean", "North America " and " Multilateral Affairs and Human Rights ," as the two departments ' economic relations and international cooperation "and" Law Coordination and Information Documentation ". Furthermore, the " Matías Romero " Institute and the Institute for Mexicans ( Mexicanos en el Exterior Instituto para los ) is abroad for SRE. Also in the jurisdiction of the SRE are the Mexican missions abroad.
