Secretariat of Health

The Secretaría de Salud ( SALUD ) is the political " office ( the government) for health ' in Mexico, comparable to a Ministry of Health.

It was founded in 1938 as the " Secretariat for Social Welfare " ( Secretaría de Asistencia Social ) founded in 1940 reclassified and renamed the " Secretariat for wholesomeness and care " ( Secretaría de Asistencia y Salubridad ) and assumed its present name since 1982.

The central building of the SSA was completed by Mexican architect Carlos Obregón Santacilia 1925.
