Secretariat of Public Education (Mexico)

The Secretaría de Educación Pública (SEP ) is the political " office ( the government) for public education " in Mexico, comparable to a Ministry of Culture. It was founded in 1905 and is headquartered in Mexico City in the original Dominican Convent de la Encarnación. The walls of the courtyards were until 1928 decorated with murals by Diego Rivera. In 1937 the former " Real Aduana " was connected to the building.
