Sedlec-Prčice

Sedlec- Prčice ( German Sedlec Pertschitz ) is a city in the region Středočeský kraj, Czech Republic.

Location

The twin cities of Sedlec- Prčice with 34 other settlements located in the southernmost part of the region. On 6,408 acres 2819 (2006) inhabitants live in a landscape pool, form its southern edge the Jistebnické Vrchoviny. The landscape was designated Bohemian Merano in the 19th century. It is a well-developed tourist, hilly, wooded area.

History

Both sub- communities developed in the past as separate towns. Prčice is the older of the two. Both towns suffered from the Thirty Years War and in the time of famine in the early 18th century. Since the 19th century Sedlec and Prčice were not connected to the rail network, also no industry moved on.

Prčice is the cradle of Witigonen and those branches of the family Krumlov, Rosenberg, Neuhaus, and country rock. Go to the common ancestor of Witiko Prčice go back.

National is the place known by the audit conducted annually since 1996 hike from Prague to Prčice attend the thousands of people.

From 1960 to 2006, the city was part of the Okres Benešov.
