Sedlice (Pelhřimov District)

Sedlice ( German Sedlitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located eight kilometers south-west of Humpolec and belongs to Okres Pelhřimov.

Geography

Sedlice located in the Želivská pahorkatina, a part of the Bohemian- Moravian Highlands, in a meander of the Želivka. Southeast of the village, the dam Sedlice, in which the Hejlovka with the Jankovský Potok is united to Želivka. North of the Želivka is jammed in the dam Vřesník. To the east is the dam Trnavka. South-east rises the Strážník (551 m).

Neighboring towns are Vřesník and Petro vice in the north, Močidla and Hněvkovice in the northeast, Kordovsko, Vystrkov and Smrdov in the east, Kletečná, Šimonice and Milotice the southeast, Vadčice and Kojčice in the south, Svépravice, Popelištná and Brtná the southwest, Kolčavka and Haštal in the west and Želiv in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of the village took place in 1226.

After the replacement of patrimonial Sedlice formed in 1850 a part of the community Želiv in the District Commission Německý Brod. 1907 Sedlice became independent and since 1910 the church belonged to the Okres Humpolec. Between 1921 and 1927, at the confluence of Hejlovka and Jankovský Potok of the construction of the dam Sedlice. Below this was built in the years 1925 to 1928, the dam Vřesník another smaller dam. Since 1961 Sedlice belongs to Okres Pelhřimov. In the years 1977 to 1981 was built in the vicinity of the place with the dam Trnavka the third dam. All reservoirs are also used for bathing. Sedlice is a resort today. On the municipal corridors are 13 cottages and 213 cabins.
