Seen (artist)

Lakes ( * 1961 in the Bronx, New York, NY, USA; actually Richard " Richie" Mirando ) is a graffiti writing artist and founder of the Department UA ( United Artists ), which now has members worldwide (eg: Loomit, Darco ). He is considered an icon of writing culture and is often referred to as the "Godfather of Graffiti ".

Life

Lakes painted in 1973 at the age of 12, accompanied by his brother his first picture. In his career, he brought it within the graffiti scene to great prestige. He sprayed among other around 200 wholecars.

His style is divided by relatively legible letters.

During his career, he used other names for spraying such as Demon, Apache, Angel, Richie, Odie3 or Psycho.

Lakes in New York has a tattoo studio. He is represented in movies and books about graffiti, such as Subway Art and Style Wars. He also came in the game Mark Ecko's Getting Up: Contents under pressure before.

Currently, his work focuses on the making of sculptures and designer toys.

His first works on canvas created in 1979, which he exhibited in numerous exhibitions worldwide. He has worked worldwide with many other writers together, including with the Germans Loomit and DAIM.
