Seiko Matsuda

Seiko Matsuda (Japanese松田 圣 子, Seiko Matsuda, Noriko Kamachi actually (蒲 池 法子), born March 10, 1962 in Kurume ) is a Japanese singer- songwriter.

Life

In 1980 her breakthrough came with the song Hadashi no Kisetsu. In the same year Kaze wa Aki -iro her first of 24 number-one hits in a row in Japan. Seiko Matsuda in 1990 tried with her English-language album Seiko also in America and Europe to gain a foothold. The single release The Right Combination, a duet with Donnie Wahlberg, a member of the New Kids on the Block, became a hit both in Europe and in the USA. The second single from this album Was It the Future flopped, however, and the album itself sold only mediocre. In 1996 she published with the ballad I'll Be There For You, a duet with Robbie Nevil.

In addition to her singing career Matsuda also occurs regularly in the Japanese and American television on ( for example in the series King of the Hill ) and played some minor roles in movies, as in Drop Dead Gorgeous or Armageddon. In 2010 she took over in an episode of the U.S. series Bones - The Knochenjägerin a guest role.

Seiko Matsuda was married from 1985 to 1997 to actor Masaki Kanda and has a daughter from this marriage, which is active in the music business under the name Sayaka also.
