Seishiro Etō

Seishiro Eto (Japanese卫 藤 征 士 郎, Eto Seishiro born April 29, 1941 in Kusu, County Kusu, Oita Prefecture) is a Japanese politician of the Liberal Democratic Party ( LDP), Vice President of Shūgiin, the Lower House, and former defense minister of his country. Within the party he belongs to Machimura faction.

Life

Eto came from a farming family in Kuju. In 1966 he completed his studies at Waseda University. At 29, he was elected in 1971 as mayor of Kusu and at that time was the nation's youngest mayor. After a four- year term, he returned for a graduate studies at Waseda, after which he became secretary of Shūgiin deputies.

From 1977 to 1983, Eto was for a legislative period the Sangiin, the House of Lords on. In 1983 Shūgiin - election, he was first elected in one constituency Oita ( four seats) with the fourth highest share of the vote in the Shūgiin and nine times since confirmed - as of 1996 in a single constituency Oita 2
