Seka District

Amphoe Seka ( Thai: อำเภอ เซกา ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the east of the province Bueng Kan. The Bueng Kan Province is located in the north of the northeast region of Thailand, the Isaan.

Geography

The Bueng Kan province is located about 615 kilometers northeast of Bangkok along the Mekong River, which is here the border to Laos.

Amphoe Seka borders the following counties (from west clockwise ) to the Amphoe Phon Charoen, Si Wilai, Bueng Kan, Bung Khla and Bueng Khong Long in Nong Khai province, at Amphoe Na Thom in the province of Nakhon Phanom and to the Amphoe Akat Amnuai, Kham Ta Kla and Ban Muang in the province of Sakon Nakhon.

The largest river of the district is Maenam Songkhram.

Nature Reserve Phu Wua is also in the county.

History

Seka was born on November 16, 1958 initially as a sub-district ( King Amphoe ) was established by the five Tambon Seka, Dong Bang, Sang Pho Mak Khaeng and Tha Kok Daeng were separated from Amphoe Bueng Kan. The following year Seka got the full Amphoe status.

Management

Amphoe Seka is divided into nine municipalities ( tambon), which in turn in 131 villages ( Muban ) are divided.

There are two small towns ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

  • Si Phana ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ศรี พนา ) consists of parts of the tambon Seka,
  • Tha Sa -at ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ท่า สะอาด ) consists of parts of the tambon Tha Sa -at.

In addition, there are nine " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
