Sela Ward

Sela Ann Ward ( born July 11, 1956 in Meridian, Mississippi ) is an American actress.

Life and achievements

Sela Ward attended the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa with Bob Baumhower, the future football star of the Miami Dolphins.

She moved to New York City, to work at an advertising agency, but soon hit a career as a fashion model.

Her acting career began in 1983 with a brief appearance in the short-lived American television series Emerald Point NAS. During the same year she appeared in Blake Edwards ' comedy film women on his hobby on the side of Burt Reynolds and Julie Andrews.

Ward focused in the following years to television and took on roles in popular series such as Hotel, LA Law and Sisters. Her performance in Sisters brought her in 1994 the first of two Emmys. For her role in the series Again and Again in 2000 she was honored with her second Emmy in 2001 and a Golden Globe Award. In 2001 she was nominated for the same role for an Emmy in 2000 and 2002 she was nominated for a Golden Globe Award.

In 2005 and 2006 she took a recurring role in the television series Dr. House, in which she plays Stacy Warner, the ex-girlfriend of Gregory House and the lawyer of the hospital. From 2010 to 2013 she played the role of Josephine " Jo " Danville on CSI New York.

Ward spent three years with the actor Richard Dean Anderson together. Since 1992 she has been married to businessman Howard Sherman, with whom she has two children.
