Selaginella denticulata is a plant of the genus moss ferns ( Selaginella ) and belongs to the family of Moosfarngewächse ( Selaginellaceae ).
Description
Selaginella denticulata is a perennial plant. The plant reaches a height of 4 mm to 10 centimeters. The the ground tamped flat shoots have 4 rows in pairs unequal leaves. Two smaller, the stems adjacent and laterally therefrom ever larger, protruding leaves. The latter is up to 2.5 mm long and has a fine saw teeth.
The non -clear-cut Sporangienähren are sitting. Sporenreife in April to August.
Occurrence
The distribution area includes the Mediterranean and the Canary Islands. Fresh, shady locations are preferred.
